Assalamualaikum dear friends,
As we fondly remember our Prophet’s birth and legacy this year: his love and ever-warm smile for children, the twinkle in his brown eyes as he taught his sahabah, and the light from his face that filled any room he walked into.
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam…
We are also reminded of his valuable lesson to treat women with ‘khayr’. The Arabic word ‘khayr’ means not just wellness, but goodness, safety and health. This was so important that the Prophet (s.a.w.) even mentioned it during his final sermon at Arafah.
And what better way to treat our women, girls, sisters, daughters, and mothers well than by giving them the best education that they deserve.

Being Robbed of Freedom
• In October 2012, Malala Yousafzai was shot in her head because she spoke up about girls’ right to education.
• Brazil, the eighth largest economy in the world still has 1.5 million girls out of school.
• Only 1 out of 100 girls in India continue schooling until they are 12.
These statistics are just some examples of girls being deprived of education. Furthermore, cases of oppression, violence, and harassment against women are also rampant in our society.
So how do we improve this?
Rasulullah S.A.W. set a great example for how we should treat our girls and women, and that we should support them to grow. He, S.A.W, uplifted the status of women and allowed women to engage in public roles.
Girls need the confidence and knowledge to be able to stand up and empower other girls and women, and it is best to instill the values while they are young.
This is why our work at Khadijah Learning Centre is so important.
We Aim to Shape Khadijahs of Our Own
One of the most effective ways to impart high-quality education to girls is through establishing all-girls Islamic schools. All-girls schools produce more confident, learned, and better leaders compared to co-ed schools as proven by various studies.

Khadijah Learning Centre (KLC) is a school that focuses on building a future generation of confident and knowledgeable women around an Islamic environment driven by values and adab.
The name Khadijah was chosen as she embodies the wholesome successful woman, a devoted wife to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, a loving mother, a powerful, independent, knowledgeable woman leader, and many more. Honing the girls through Islamic values, activity-based academics, and the 21st-century approach, we aim to shape Khadijahs of our own.
And we need your help to make this dream come true.
Our new campus in Kuala Lumpur city center, partially sponsored by a philanthropic Muslim woman needs major renovations to make it a happy space for the girls to learn. Through your support, these well-designed spaces will allow the girls and our teachers to grow and flourish.

Our Super Women Team
Since 2018, the school has been held up by a team of superwomen teachers and management. Behind the whole team, continuously supporting and contributing the best that she can is Umi Irah, or Nur Zahirah Muhammad Shukran. Umi Irah graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and was the Vice President of the Muslim Students Association in her third year.
She is currently completing her Masters in Education in Malaysia to ensure that the quality of education offered at KLC is excellent.
Our principal is Ms. Saziyan, who has 18 years of experience in admin and education, with Ms. Aishah previously heading the English Department at the headquarters of an international Islamic school with 103 branches as our Head of Curriculum, Ms. Salwani as our Head of Student Affairs and Ms. Nadhirah, a chartered accountant with experience working in the Big 4 auditing firms as our school accountant with seven more team members, all graduates in their own fields.
Our girls are aged between 6-12 years old. They have shown tremendous behavioral and academic improvement in their years of studying at KLC. They are very confident at initiating discussions in class, stepping up and giving speeches at events.

Our parents are also a big part of the school as they love to contribute what they can for different events and occasions. They have expressed their happiness with their daughters’ development throughout the years.

We hope you are celebrating Eidul Fitr safely with your family and friends.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your contribution to our last campaign ‘Building an All-Girls Islamic School’ on LaunchGood. Thank you so much! With your support, Alhamdulillah, the girls now have spacious and exciting new areas for them to learn in! The girls have expressed their excitement and love for the new spaces!

Our Main Hall is decorated with a grass carpet and is large enough for our girls to gather and do various fun activities such as our weekly Circle Time, drama performance, energizer activities, and many more! The hall is also furnished with sofas, bean bags, shelves, student lockers, an LED TV screen, speakers, and air conditioners.
A few of the walls in our school are painted with chalkboard paint. These walls are often being used for classes, writing encouraging messages, or just as a canvas for the girls to express their creativity! Each classroom has enough shelves for the teachers to arrange any books or class materials. We also bought clean new whiteboards and soft boards for them to pin up their works.
We are trying our best to provide a comfortable and fun learning environment for our girls so that they can continue to bloom into courageous and confident girls! And these are all possible because of YOU. May Allah bless you always with happiness, success, and good health!
We are also currently working on a story/journal book for girls. Some of you who contributed to our last campaign will be able to receive a copy of the book!
“The Book for Strong Girls” is one of our many efforts to get more girls to get involved. Girls will be able to kick start their new journey, participate, indulge, and share STORIES. We believe that STORIES are a powerful tool to build a better generation.
The Kit includes short stories written and illustrated by the KLC girls, daily dua's, simple hadith with interesting background stories, puzzles, and spaces for them to express and share their own mini tales.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to support our current ongoing campaign on LaunchGood, ‘Empowering Muslim Girls Through Stories’, where we highlight the importance of great stories for the development of girls around the world!

We couldn’t have done it without YOU! KLC’s New Home Campaign
Assalamualaikum and good afternoon!
We hope that you are staying healthy and safe with your loved ones.
During the past few weeks, we had our very first students-teachers meeting. We had a wonderful discussion on school values and how the teachers and the students could apply them, in the compound of Khadijah Learning Centre or anywhere they go.
The girls were also encouraged to share their ideas on the decorations of their new school in Titiwangsa. They contributed a lot of ideas on how to decorate their classrooms, such as making handprints and murals. One of them also suggested having a special wall for them or for the former students to dedicate encouraging messages to each other when they leave KLC... Now that's a legacy!! They constantly expressed their excitement to move to the new place and to decorate the school together!
So today, along with these updates, we would like to again record our thanks to you, for without YOUR donation (however small it was!), Alhamdulillah tsumma Alhamdulillah, we have successfully achieved our funding goal for the renovation and preparation of the school!
The campaign has ended last week, and the funds surpassed the original goal, Alhamdulillah. We value every single one of your donations, no matter how small or how big! We will make sure the donations are used for the school renovation to further enhance the girls’ learning experience at school and to make it more enjoyable!
With your funds, we could add new floorings, repaint the walls of the original building to new colours, add more sinks for our Cooking Classes, get classroom furniture, learning materials, and provide our girls with outdoor equipment! With the extra donations, the girls will have an outdoor archery set and more playground equipment to encourage outdoor activities within the school compound.
Over the last few weeks, we have discussed with the contractor on the panning of the renovation and they have been providing us with the quotations. We initially planned to start the first stage of the renovation last week but as it is quite a big project, there were long discussions with the contractor and the owner to make sure everything goes smoothly. If all goes well, we are planning to start the renovation this week, InsyaAllah.

An update on KLC's New Home Campaign that you donated to!
Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah… Up until yesterday, the KLC’s New Home campaign to build an all-girls school has surpassed the 45k goal! We could not have done this without YOUR help. So, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. May Allah blessed you with the best rewards, in this world and in Jannah InsyaAllah.
A little update on our renovation:
Last week, we met up with the contractor to discuss the details of the renovation. As it is quite an old building, the renovation will mostly be on repairing any wear-and-tear damages, adding shelves and repairing cabinets, changing or polishing the floors, and repainting the walls. Below are some pictures of the current condition of the house.
The campaign is still accepting donations and will be going on for another 2 weeks. We will keep you posted 😊

We are also holding our second session (out of three) of our Virtual Open Day on the 14th of November 2020. If you are looking to enroll your girls in a school next year, consider Khadijah Learning Centre and join our Open Day to know more about our school and dedicated teachers. At KLC, we strive to raise our students into confident and knowledgeable girls in an Islamic learning environment driven by values and adab.
Since we are currently in a situation that would not allow us to meet physically, we are holding the Open Day online via Zoom. We will also have a short storytime session for your daughters with the one and only Umi Irah, KLC Founder. The Open Day is an opportunity for you to get to know us and at the same time to discuss your dreams and the best future for your daughter 😊
